James C. Egede Sr. is the founder and director of Jaycee Consulting and Psychotherapy. He has a Ph.D. in psychology from the City  University of New York (CUNY), and two Master’s degrees in Counseling, and Education, from St. John’s University, New York, and a New York State License to practice counseling and psychotherapy.

As founder and director, doing business as Jaycee Consulting and Psychotherapy, Dr. Egede brings more than twenty-five years of mental health knowledge and expertise to his work with couples, individuals, and families. He has advanced and extensive post-graduate training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and continues to update his skills with continuing education and well attuned peer networking and support. In addition, he is an associate member of the American Psychological Association (APA), member of The Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi), and the International Center For Excellence in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (ICEEFT).

He specializes in couple and relationship issues – including but not limited to – marital, pre-marital, divorce, and separation. He uses the powerful EFT skills and technique that espouse a theory of close adult relationships in a manner that no other theory does.
